I tried this installation on a home computer running WinXP. It took about 10 minutes to get Matlab installed with a DSL connection of about 300Kb/min.

Next, I tried to launch Matlab. (Start->Program Files->Matlab R2007a CS310) I had forgot to authorize first. Once, I was authorized, I was able to start Matlab without any problems.

The recommendation of trying the link from Internet Explorer worked great, but you must still authorize your login first.

Have I mentioned that you must authorize each and every session in which you wish to run Matlab?

[edit] Running on Windows Vista

If MATLAB fails to start under Windows Vista, try the following: Create an environment variable MATLAB_RESERVE_LO and set its value to 0. Let me know if this works or not. - Paul O.
