Step 1. Before you Install:

  • Map to the network drive or check out the media from the Wendt Library, circulation desk.
  • Authorize your computer to use tethered software. Use your CAE username and password to gain access to CAE tethered licensing. Each authorization has a duration of 12 hours.

Step 2. Run Setup

  • The installer can either be downloaded from the CAE media server \\kamino.cae.wisc.edu\tethered. Navigate to the Autodesk 2008 folder and from there, navigate to the folder of the software of your choice (Architecture, Structure, or MEP Suite). Once here, double click "Setup.exe"

Step 3. Select Install Products

Step 4. At the "Welcome to the Revit..." screen, select Next.

Step 5. Select the products you wish to install and select Next.

Step 6. Accept the license agreement and select Next.

Step 7. At the "Review - Configure - Install" screen select Install

Step 8. Overwrite the LICPATH.LIC file

  • After Revit has installed, proceed to the "\\kamino\tethered\Autodesk 2007" folder and download the LICPATH.LIC file to the directory: "C:\Program Files\Revit Architecture 2008\Program". When prompted, confirm that you want to overwrite the existing file.

[edit] Authorize and Run

Note: In order for tethered software to function properly your workstation must be continuously connected to the network and the CAE license servers.
