[edit] Tethered Installation Steps

Step 1. Before you Install

  • Map to the network drive. Wendt library does not have media for this package. If you need media burn your own from the CAE media server, kamino.
  • Authorize your computer to use tethered software. Use your CAE username and password to gain access to CAE tethered licensing. Each authorization has a duration of 12 hours.

Step 2. Start the installer, install.exe. The installer can be run directly from the CAE media server \\kamino.cae.wisc.edu\tethered or run from your own burned media.

Step 3. accepting the license agreement.

Step 4. Specify your personal information.

Step 5. Installation. Select Standard Install.

Step 6. Final setup.

Step 7. setting up the Licensing Mode. <Protected text, login to view>

  • If you are not prompted to do this during the installation, then open Quartus and go to Tools > License Setup and enter <Protected text, login to view> into the License file form

Note: In order for tethered software to function properly your workstation must be continuously connected to the network and the CAE license servers.
