Tethered Installations

Step 1. Before you Install:

  • Map to the network drive.
  • Authorize your computer to use tethered software. Use your CAE username and password to gain access to CAE tethered licensing. Each authorization has a duration of 12 hours.

Step 2. Start the Installer (setup.exe). Click MathCAD 14.

  • The installer can either be run or downloaded from the CAE media server \\kamino.cae.wisc.edu\tethered

[* If you want to use the installer from our campus server, please use the one located in the 'Express_Installs' directory instead of MathCAD 14.]

Step 3. Review the License Agreement

Step 4. Complete the Customer Information. Use:

MathCAD 14 Product Code: <Protected text, login to view>

Step 5. Mathcad License Setup. When ask to enter license information, choose Use a license server to request a license to run MathCAD from the CAE license server.

Server Name: license-1.cae.wisc.edu
Server Port: 7788

Note: In order for tethered software to function properly your workstation must be continuously connected to the network and the CAE license servers.
