[edit] Tethered Installation Steps
Step 1. Before you Install:
- Map to the network drive or check out the media from the Wendt Library, circulation desk.
- Authorize your computer to use tethered software. Use your CAE username and password to gain access to CAE tethered licensing. Each authorization has a duration of 12 hours.
Step 2. Start the Installer.
- The installer can either be downloaded from our campus server \\kamino.cae.wisc.edu\tethered or checked out from Wendt library
Step 3. Accept the License Agreement.
Step 4. Specify Installation Directory.
Step 5. Choose Installation Type. Select Standard Install ESPRIT Components
Step 6. Run Esprit to Configure Licensing. Esprit Shouls be available on your "Start Menu"
Step 7. Choose Licensing Mode. Select "License Server (local or network)"
Step 8. Select a License to Check out.
- Select license-a.cae.wisc.edu
- Choose 00007FF07FDF1FFFF V11.99 (or whichever had V11.99)
- Select any of the Gold Keys and click on ESPRIT
This same license selection procedure will need to be repeated each time you wish to run Esprit 2003

Note: In order for tethered software to function properly your workstation must be continuously connected to the network and the CAE license servers.
