AutoCAD 2007 Tethered Installation

[edit] Tethered Installation Steps
WARNING: DO NOT run the default installer.
Step 1. Before you Install:
- Map a network drive to the CAE media server (kamino).
- Authorize your computer to use tethered software. Use your CAE username and password to gain access to CAE tethered licensing. Each authorization has a duration of 12 hours.
Step 2. Start the Installer. When installing directly from kamino run \\kamino\tethered\Autodesk 2007\AutoCAD 2007 Installer (a shortcut). Select Install. Otherwise the installer can either be downloaded from our campus server \\kamino.cae.wisc.edu\tethered.
Step 3. Enter User Information
Step 4. Select Installation Type. Most users should select Typical
Step 5. Specify Installation Folder.
Step 6. Specify text editor
Step 7. Configuring the License.
Step 8. Post Installation If you have license server problems: Download the LICPATH.LIC file and replace the existing LICPATH.LIC file in the AutoCAD installation folder, generally found in the Program Files folder. This corrected file can also be download from the CAE media server (kamino) in the Autodesk 2007 folder.

Note: In order for tethered software to function properly your workstation must be continuously connected to the network and the CAE license servers.

License configuration problems? Edit the LICPATH.LIC file found in the installation folders (generally under Program Files). This file is generally missing configuration elements. There is a correct version of this file on the media server (\\kamino\tethered) in the Autodesk 2007 folder.
Alternate method to fix licensing problems: Create an Environmental Variable named: adskflex_license_file with the value of: 27101@license-1.cae.wisc.edu
All Autodesk products use the same license service. So the configuration is the same for all Autodesk products.
If the installation process does not ask for licensing information, you are installing the product incorrectly. Please see a CAE consultant to ensure you are running the correct installation script.
For VISTA support download and install AutoCAD 2007 Service Pack 2. This Service Pack addresses a number of issues and provides Microsoft Windows Vista support.
