Step 1. Before you Install:
- Map to the network drive.
- Authorize your computer to use tethered software. Use your CAE username and password to gain access to CAE tethered licensing. Each authorization has a duration of 12 hours.
Step 2. Start the Installer (AutoExec.exe in the \\kamino\tethered\Ansys 11\Windows 3bit possessor folder). Select Install Products. Select Ansys Products and any other product you wish to install. (There is NO need to install License Management)
- The installer can either be run directly or downloaded from our campus server \\kamino.cae.wisc.edu\tethered
Step 3. Read the License Agreement.
Step 4. Specify Installation Directory.
Step 5. Select components to install.
Step 6. Setup Licensing. Make sure to Run the licensing setup to complete this installation box is selected.
Step 7. Specify Port. Set the port to 1055.
Step 8. Select 1 License Server. select the "License server running the ANSYS FLEXlm License Manager" option.
Step 9. Specify License Servers. License servers is fireball.cae.wisc.edu

Note: In order for tethered software to function properly your workstation must be continuously connected to the network and the CAE license servers.

- If you continue to have license server connection problem -- Set an environment variable named: ansyslmd_license_file with the value of 1055@fireball.cae.wisc.edu
